PENNSYLVANIA H.B. 2163 – State Boards of Cosmetology

Sponsor: Representative Dom Costa (D)

Summary: Requires that a licensed salon owner who moves, vacates, or transfers a license, resubmit all variance requests to the Board.

Requires the Board to publish their meeting agenda on their website 30 days prior to a meeting. Establishes guidelines for specific variances.  Requires The Board not their designees, to take action on all variance requests- prohibiting staff from granting or denying variance requests without Board action. Prohibits variances for new construction, additions,or renovations, unless the requestor can demonstrate an extenuating need.
